Close-out software for restaurants and bars: the till report becomes the result.
Close-out software for gastronomy takes the till report, the cash, the card revenue and the receipts of an evening and turns them into what the business needs in the morning: revenue per hour, staff costs, result, next week's schedule and an export for the accountant. CashCount Guru is such a tool. I built it for my own bar, and it has run in a bar group since January 2026.
The problem.
The close-out is the hour after the shift in which cash is counted, card receipts reconciled, tips distributed and numbers typed into Excel. For a venue open six nights a week that is over 300 hours a year, mostly done by the person running the business. And the numbers still only arrive with the accountant, weeks later.
What CashCount Guru does.
The team enters the close-out at the end of the shift in two minutes, by phone or a photo of the till receipt. The tool reads the values, checks cash against the till, calculates revenue, staff costs and result per evening and week, proposes the schedule from the revenue curve and exports receipts and postings for the accountant. All on EU servers, with role-based access.
It replaces no till and no accounting. It sits between them and does the work nobody gets paid for today.
Why now.
From 2027 venues above 800,000 euros revenue must issue e-invoices, from 2028 all of them. The cabinet approved a draft in September 2026 for a mandatory till registration from 2028. The minimum wage rises to 14.60 euros. Venues that see their numbers only with the annual accounts lose the year.
