Reservation system for bars: own website, no fee per guest.
A reservation system for bars has to do different things than one for restaurants: capacity by time slot instead of a table plan, groups and events, waiting list, walk-ins, and it must cost nothing per guest. I built such a system for Honey Lou, with live capacity, confirmations, waiting list and admin, and build it into the own websites of bars and restaurants in Berlin.
What portals cost.
Reservation portals charge per guest or per month and keep the guest data. A portal founded in Berlin is, according to industry reports, closing its German operation at the end of 2026. Whoever had reservations there needs a new path by then. The best path is the own website: the guest books with you, the data belongs to you, and it costs nothing per reservation.
What the system does.
Capacity per time slot, not per table. Groups above a certain size with a check-back. Events with their own capacity and presale. Waiting list that moves up automatically on cancellations. Confirmation and reminder by email. Walk-ins and cancellations in the admin, on the team's phone. Export of guests for your newsletter.
All on your website, with structured data, so that Google offers the reservation straight from search.
From my own venue.
At Honey Lou the system has run since 2024 with live capacity for a venue with over 200 events a year. What works there on a Saturday night works for you too.

Questions
- What does an own reservation system cost?
- Setup at a fixed price and a monthly amount for operation and support. For comparison: according to comparison sites, portals charge 1.50 euros per guest or 50 to 130 euros per month, and the guest data stays with the portal.
- Do I need a new website?
- No, the system can be built into an existing website. If the website itself is the problem, I build both together.
- Does it work with our till?
- The reservation system is independent of the till. Connections to tills with an interface are possible.
- What about Google?
- Reservations are marked up with structured data. Google can show the reservation button directly in the business profile.
